Chapter Nine: Antlousai and Toryna

4/23/2017

Collection: Chronicles of Lormere, Chronicled by Ghasty

A strange figure moved throughout the shadows of Lormere. It was careful not to draw attention to itself. When the creature wasn't hugging the side of a wall or building, it was bent down over beds of wilted flowers. This creature was seeking something out, and it was determined to find it. The creature wandered into the small, lower caves, which had been abandoned by the Gorynxil. It came to the end of the caverns and found itself before a figure seated on a small throne.
"Don't be a stranger," the figure said, "you hide in the shadows like a thief. If you have come to rob me, you won't find anything of interest. I think I should shed some light on this situation. Fotralici ahl trasujil!" Two torches flared to life next to the seated figure. This figure looked like a Gorynxe, but six slimy wings arched from her back. The light also made the creature clearly visible. He resembled that of a stem of a flower. Six wings arched from his back. The wings resembled flower stems joined together with flower petals.
"That is much better," the seated figure said, "who are you and why are you here?"
"My name is Antlousai," the creature said, "I came to check on the gardens, and instead found strange creatures wandering Lormere. Do you know anything about that?"
"I, Toryna, know that those creatures killed the Lormerians. I personally wished it had not happened. Now the Gorynxil are likely to be seen by people searching for the Lormerians. She needs to be stopped before she puts more creatures in danger," Toryna said.
"How do you expect to do that?" Antlousai asked, "you guard over a small species that seems to be confined to Lormere. I wouldn't be much help either. I guard over flowers." Toryna seemed to be absorbed in thought after the Antlousai's comment. She was silent for a few minutes before she spoke.
"I know somebody who might help!" Toryna exclaimed excitedly.
"Who?" Antlousai asked.
"Just come with me," she said, "I'll explain when we get there."
"But ju-" was all Antlousai could get out before Toryna started chanting and they were enveloped in a bright light. When the light receded, they were gone.
