Chapter 11

"Ieg Meldontha teupumi edhi oghad!" Delumer chanted. She stood in the center of her house. A revenant who looked like a human appeared in front of her. She was covered shoulders to feet in platinum armor. She had long blonde hair which partially covered an amaranth branch placed behind her left ear. She held a platinum sword with a tugtupite gemstone socketed in the center of her sword hilt. She was fair skinned and she had dark brown eyes. Her six amaranth-like wings arched through her armor.
"Hello, Meldontha," Delumer greeted the revenant.
"Where am I?" the revenant asked turning to Delumer.
"You're in the house of Delumer."
"I'm guessing you're Delumer."
"You would be correct."
"Why did you summon me here?"
"I have some information you might want," Delumer answered, then gesturing to a seat at her table, "come, sit down." Meldontha sat down in the chair and Delumer sat down across from her. Meldon
"Your ward is the kingdom of Amarastia, correct?" Delumer asked.
"Yes," Meldontha replied.
"This would include protecting the Amarastian royal family, correct?"
"Yes."
"There is a group of revenants planning the death of Queen Amelda. I will give you their names and their plan if you promise me something."
"What is it?"
"I want her cat, get me it."
"Why do you want her cat?"
"A gift for someone."
"Fine, you have a deal."
"Good. They are Cyjovin, the revenant of Vyjorst Forest, and Diasdera, the revenant of the city of Lormere and its caves. They plan to invade the palace using bandits and kill the queen."
"When are they planning to do this?"
"I do not know."
"I need revenants who will help me. Do you know any who might?"
"Edya, the mountain revenant, might help. You can find her on the summit of Mount Joxynsa."
"I must depart to find her, thank you," Meldontha said as she picked up her sword. She then began to chant.
"Ieg ema teupumi u Fyunag Joxynsa oghad!" she chanted. A blinding light enveloped the entire room and when it receded, Delumer was standing alone.
"Now I have somebody reliable to do my work for me," Delumer said aloud. She then approached her alchemy table.
"Ieg cazconi knibbre soku povreysil, oi aftini einzil oi masolestil emane!" Delumer chanted. A dark purple book appeared before her on the table. The book contained a list of revenant names and their wards. Some of the names had been crossed out three of which were Dyumjor, Sirela, and Zianiel. The crossed off names had the causes of death written next to them. The causes of the three deaths were ???, executed by Erivome, and executed by Dyumjor respectively. At the end of the book were scribblings that were barely legible. These scribblings talked about revenants and their properties. Delumer filled up her pitcher and began to take a few jars from the shelves above the table. The jars labels read wolfberry seeds, ash leaves, kudzu vines, pokeweed berries, honey, sand, and chicken eyes. She took eight wolfberry seeds, four ash leaves, a kudzu vine, six pokeweed berries, a spoonful of honey, two pinches of sand, and a chicken eye, and put them in her mortar and was about to mash them. Delumer checked the ingredient list before seeing two items she was missing, the blood of a powerful revenant, and fiojetvirkyonfygapar petals.
"This could be a problem," she said aloud. She walked away from her table and retrieved her bow and quiver. She opened her door and stepped out into the dark forest which contained her house.
"Ieg ema feprav enefyilre!" Delumer chanted, turning her dark form immaterial.
